Gopeng Heritage House – The Home for Cultural Relic

The first step into Gopeng Heritage House is the entrance of time travel back to Gopeng that more than 125 years ago.
Gopeng Heritage House is another branch of Gopeng Museum, which started in year 2009. After three years, Gopeng Heritage House was set up as repository of cultural relic such as furniture, bedroom furnishings and antique from 100 years ago until the 1960s.

One of the administrator Uncle Phang, who is the owner of Gopeng Museum. He says Gopeng Heritage House do not charge visitors any no entrance fees, because it is aim for spread culture of good old days of Gopeng rather than earn profits from visitors.
“All basic expense of this heritage house come from selling some herbal tea and herbal jelly. There is a donation box to let visitors support the running of heritage house.” Said Phang.
“We have three volunteers to help the management of this heritage house, but the lacking of man power we only manage open heritage house two days per week for visitors.” He added.


According to Phang, Gopeng Heritage House lost one of the ink slab carved with dragon image, which they believed was stolen by visitor.
"We hope every visitors come with a heart of appreciate, it is not easy to collect those antique, furniture and calligraphy paintings. We spend so much affect in Heritage House and Museum," said Phang.
